Aaron joined Calvert CrossFit North when it first opened in September 2016. He has a wife and son and works for HD Supply during the day. Aaron definitely drank the CrossFit Kool-Aid, WODing almost daily and working on his weaknesses before and after class or during Open Gym. He took his CrossFit Level 1 "just to learn more" and found an expected love of coaching. Aaron continues to grow each day both as a coach and an athlete and loves watching other athletes do the same in such a supportive environment.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION AS A COACH?
II am not where I would like to be as far as providing the best coaching as possible. More time will help me with that. What I try to do is make the time the athletes are there fun and engaging. It is their choice to come do something that many times is hard and uncomfortable. I hope I am giving them the energy and guidance they need to come back the next day.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO COACHING?
I really enjoyed seeing how others were seeing “gains”. Confidence in body awareness, strength, endurance. I was seeing the same in myself and wanted to take it to the next level and see where that would take me.
FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?
Not sure I have one specific movement, but I tend to enjoy and like the challenge of the gymnastics movements.
LEAST FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?
It’s a tie between thrusters and any burpee that requires jumping on something.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF IRON FOUNDRY ATHLETICS?
I enjoy projects around the house. Remodeling, upgrading, yardwork, etc.
ADVICE FOR SOMEONE STARTING OR WANTING TO START CROSSFIT OR EXERCISE?
You are there for you. We keep track of times and weights so you can see your personal improvement not how you compare to others.
