Fitness has always been a part of Alex’s life. He grew up playing several team sports and eventually transitioned to maintaining his fitness to align with his responsibilities as an active duty Naval Officer. He found the Sport of Fitness in 2012 when he tried his first WOD at CrossFit Lakas. He was immediately hooked on the multi-domain variety of the sport and went on to earn his Level 1 Certificate in 2017. Alex enjoys the community of CrossFit and always tries to challenge his athletes to excel. When not in the gym, you may find him spending time with his twin boys and his better half, Michelle.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION AS A COACH?
Sense of humor – I always want athletes to be in a better mood when they leave the gym than when they arrived.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO COACHING?
II wanted to share my love of fitness and help others on their journey. What better way than by coaching?
FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?
If I really have to choose, anything gymnastics related. I always want to get better at what I feel are my weaknesses.
LEAST FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?
I honestly don’t have anything that I don’t like doing in the gym. Long workouts, short workouts, couplets, triplets, AMRAPs, EMOMs… I really like them all.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF IRON FOUNDRY ATHLETICS?
I love spending time with my twin boys and traveling to new places with Michelle.
ADVICE FOR SOMEONE STARTING OR WANTING TO START CROSSFIT OR EXERCISE?
Just show up. Once you do, you’ll feel the CrossFit community embrace you and help you on your journey.
FINISH WITH A JOKE.
Redbull doesn’t give you wings…Pullups do.
