I am a Chiropractor at Henry Chiropractic and Wellness Center. I began olympic lifting to train for football in high school. I have been competing in olympic lifting since my freshman year of college for my university’s club weightlifting team, The Truman State Irondog’s.

Certifications

  • USAW Level 1
  • CrossFit Level 1
  • WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION AS A COACH?

I think my biggest contribution as a coach is the unique blend and application of my personal experience as a weightlifter, of just over 10 years, with my extensive educational background involving anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.

  • WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO COACHING?

I have always enjoyed weightlifting (powerlifting, body building and olympic lifting) but I began coaching olympic lifting while competing at Truman State where I became certified as a USAW coach so that I could run the clubs lifting sessions.

  • FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?

    Snatch

  • LEAST FAVORITE MOVEMENT OR WORKOUT?

    Push Press

  • WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF IRON FOUNDRY ATHLETICS?

I enjoy the outdoors, I am a big turkey and waterfowl hunter and have recently gotten in to deer hunting as well. I also play for the local rugby club, PAX River RFC.

  • ADVICE FOR SOMEONE STARTING OR WANTING TO START CROSSFIT OR EXERCISE?

It's very important to get an excellent foundation in terms of technique and baseline strength. The complex movements take a lot of time and effort to master and should not be rushed. Do not get discouraged with the process, be patient.

  • FINISH WITH A QUOTE.

Do or do not. There is no try. - Yoda
